Michael Fassbender (born 2 April 1977) is a German-Irish actor. He is best known for playing Lt. Archie Hicox in Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds (2009). His other credits include Jane Eyre (2011), the Sky One television series Hex, the HBO miniseries Band of Brothers, Zack Snyder's 300 (2006), and the 2008 BAFTA-winning film Hunger. In 2011, Fassbender played Magneto in the superhero film, X-Men: First Class.
